Monten Aoki proposes combination of Japanese traditinal Mon (family crest) and Street style. Mon has made in Edo era (1603-1867) and has kind of 4500 or more based on flowers and animals. Today, we can confirm those only expensive furniture, shrine, temple. We don' have a chance to look the person who wear Kimono with Mon many times. Because our Kimono culture has been disappearing. So it is not familiar with us. Monten Aoki made those be simple, chic and familiar with us.
Monten Aokiは、日本伝統の紋とストリート文化の融合を提案します。紋の多くは江戸時代に作られ、花や動物を基調としたものが多く、その種類は約4500種類にもなります。現代では、高級家具、神社、お寺、結婚式での着物で見かけます。着物が着る機会が減ったことから、目にすることが少なりました。Monten Aokiは紋をアメリカで生まれたストリート文化と融合させ、シンプル、シックで身近にします。
